Fall Entertaining Ideas
This is such a wonderful season. Leaves changing colors, crisp mornings, harvest time, harvest moons. It is an inspiring season as well and a time to count your blessings.
How about a count your blessings party with a Fall theme.
Decorate with lots of leaves, pumpkins, raffia, cuttings from your yard. For a realistic look you can throw leaves (real or artificial) up in the air and let them land on your table. (You may have to move a few that land in inappropriate places).

This photo is from a fall party I did a few years ago. This is the dessert table. We used baskets, bushel baskets, ivy, leaves, real and artificial fruits and vegetables.
Menus ideas include: Fruit & Cheeses with a variety of Crackers & Sliced Baguettes, Chicken Skewers with a flavorful sauce, Italian Sausage Bites with Flavored Mustards, Mini Meatballs, Mini Pumpkin Muffins, Zucchini Bread Slices, Chocolate Brownie Bites, Pumpkin or Pecan Tartlets.
Help your guests to count their blessings by giving each a small tree branch or cut out tree with their family name on it. Give each family member a leaf real or artificial and have them write what they are thankful for on the leaf. Attach it to their “family tree” and they will be reminded of all the blessings they have in their family.

Tea Time
Whether or not you are a big tea fan, tea time is a wonderful idea for entertaining or just to for some relaxation. In this column we will focus on tea time entertaining ideas.
One of my favorite memories of Uncle Bud was that every night at 9:00pm, he had “tea time” with his wife. Tea time included a cup of tea or maybe decaf coffee and reading a devotional and praying. We knew not to call between 9:00pm and 9:30pm because it was their “tea time.”
Maybe you should start a “tea time” at your house. Wouldn’t that be a lovely way to wind down your evening.
